Tips for Attending Markets with your Dog
A little pre-market preparation can help to ensure your day out at the market is a positive experience for you and your doggo.
- Water & Snacks. Take a water bowl and some treats to keep your dog hydrated and happy.
- Plan for Quiet Times. If your dog is anxious in crowds, visit during quieter hours to reduce stress.
- Socialisation & Training. Make sure your dog is well-socialised and knows basic commands for better control in crowds and with other dogs.
- Leads. Some markets require dogs to be on a lead, even if this isn’t their policy it’s always a good idea to use one and respect the space of people and other dogs.
- Take breaks. Give your dog some time out in the shade to avoid overheating in the summer sun, and give them a chance to relax if the market is overstimulating.
- Respect Others. Keep your dog on a leash, clean up after them, and be mindful of other shoppers and pets.
We hope this list is helpful and you and your dog enjoy all the fun on offer this festive season!
