Action Required: batches 1185, 1186, 1187, 1188, and 1189

Dear Pack Member

We're reaching out with a precautionary notice affecting a small number of our recent batches — and we want to do that the Happy Hounds way: honestly, openly, and with your dog's wellbeing at the centre of everything.

During a routine equipment check, we identified a fault in one of our machines that was in use during the production of batches 1185, 1186, 1187, 1188, and 1189. As a precaution, we want to make you aware that there is a small possibility that a piece of stainless steel (approximately 1cm²) may be present in products from these batches.

The honest truth is the probability is very low, less than 0.013% per 500g serving based on total batch volume, but we know that 'low probability' doesn't feel like much comfort when it's your dog, and that's exactly why we're telling you. Transparency isn't something we switch on when it's convenient. It's the foundation of the trust you place in us every time you feed Happy Hounds, and we don't take that lightly.

The machine fault has been identified and corrected, and we are confident that all current production is unaffected.

We are urgently cooking new batches and passing possibly affected stock through our metal detector before dispatch. We are doing everything we can to ensure your product is safe before it reaches you. As an extra layer of care, however, we encourage you to do a quick visual check before each serving, it takes only a moment and gives you peace of mind.

What to do:

• Check your packaging for the batch number printed on the label.

• ⁠If you have product from any of the affected batches, please take a moment to visually inspect the food before placing it in your dog's bowl. The fragment would appear as a small, square, flat piece of metal approximately 1cm in size.

• ⁠⁠If you would prefer not to inspect the food yourself, please bring your affected packs to us at Happy Hounds HQ, 131 Sir Lowry Road, Foreshore, 8001 and we will swap the product no questions asked.
