How to set up your subscription

Takes about 2 minutes, here's exactly what to do.

Create a customer account

You'll need an account to subscribe. Register here, it only takes a moment. You'll use this account later to log in and manage your subscription whenever you need to skip, pause, edit or make changes.

Choose your products & subscribe

On each product page, select Subscribe & Save. For each product, choose your quantity, size and packaging, then pick your shipping frequency: every 1, 2 or 4 weeks.

Do this for each product individuallyMake sure all products are set to the same frequency so they arrive together
Choose delivery or collection at checkout

Select delivery (R92, Cape Town & surrounds) or free collection from 131 Sir Lowry Road, Foreshore, Cape Town, 8001.

Pay for your first order at checkout

Your first order is charged immediately at checkout, just like a regular purchase. This kicks off your subscription and gets your food on its way.

When does my card get charged?

First order
Charged at checkout

When you complete your first order, your card is charged immediately, just like any online purchase.

Order #2 onwards — automatic
Charged every 1, 2 or 4 weeks

Based on your chosen frequency, your saved card is charged automatically and your order is packed fresh.

Before each charge
You get an email reminder

We send an "Upcoming Order" email before every renewal so you have time to skip, edit, or pause before your card is charged.

Your card details aren't stored on the Happy Hounds website — they're securely processed by Paystack, our trusted payment partner.

Heads up: Your subscription renews on a rolling cycle based on your chosen frequency — weekly, every 2 weeks, or every 4 weeks — rather than on a fixed calendar date. This keeps your pup's supply consistent. You can always check your next renewal date on your subscription dashboard.

What you can do

Your subscription, your rules

Make any of these changes from your subscription dashboard.

Add / remove products
Change what's in your subscription

To add:

  1. Go to Subscriptions and click Manage subscription.
  2. Select Add items to order.
  3. Search for the product you'd like to add.
  4. Choose whether to add it as a subscription or a once-off item.
  5. Click Add, then Done to save your changes.

To remove:

  1. Go to Subscriptions and click Manage subscription.
  2. Click Manage next to your subscription items.
  3. Click the bin icon next to the product you want to remove.
  4. Click Remove to confirm.
Skip a delivery
Skip your next order
  1. Go to Orders.
  2. Click Skip next to your upcoming order.
  3. When prompted, click Confirm to skip your next subscription order.
Reschedule
Push out your next order date
  1. Go to Orders.
  2. Click Reschedule next to your upcoming order.
  3. Choose how far you'd like to move your order, or select a custom date.
  4. Click Reschedule to save your changes.
Pay & process now
Process your order immediately
  1. Go to Orders.
  2. Click Pay and process now next to your upcoming order.
  3. Review the confirmation pop-up, which will show your next payment date.
  4. Click Process now to confirm.

Change frequency
Switch between 1, 2 or 4-weekly
  1. Go to Subscriptions and click Manage subscription.
  2. Click the pen icon next to your subscription frequency.
  3. Select your preferred frequency from the dropdown menu.
  4. Tick the checkbox to acknowledge that your card will be charged according to your new payment schedule.
  5. Click Save (if prompted).
Delivery or collection
Switch between delivery & collection
  1. Go to Subscriptions and click Manage subscription.
  2. Click the pen icon next to your shipping method.
  3. Select your preferred shipping option from the dropdown menu.
  4. Click Save (if prompted).
Pause
Take a break without cancelling
  1. Go to Subscriptions and click Manage subscription.
  2. Click Pause.
  3. When prompted, click Pause again to confirm.
Resume
Restart a paused subscription
  1. Go to Subscriptions and click Manage subscription.
  2. Click Resume.
  3. When prompted, click Resume to confirm.
  4. Please note that your next subscription order will be processed immediately.
Update payment method
Change your card details
  1. Go to Subscriptions and click Manage subscription.
  2. Click the pen icon next to your payment card details.
  3. Enter your new card details.
  4. Click Pay R1 to verify your card.
  5. A temporary R1 authentication charge will be made and automatically refunded.

Simply skip it, click "Orders" then "Skip" before your renewal date. Your subscription stays active and resumes on the following cycle with no charge.

Absolutely, and we'd recommend it if you're going away, have a stockpile, or just need a breather. Pausing keeps all your settings intact so you don't have to set everything up again. Go to Subscriptions → Manage subscription → Pause.

We'll email you to let you know and give you time to update your payment details. Go to Subscriptions → Manage subscription → click the pen icon next to your card details. Your subscription won't be cancelled, we'll retry once your new card details are saved.

Log into your account, go to your subscription dashboard, select your active subscription, and click "Cancel." If your next order has already been charged, it will still be delivered. We'll confirm your cancellation by email.
